Cooking Basics
Pesto is an aromatic basil sauce that can be used on pasta, pizza, stirred into soup or stews; as a spread on paninis; added to dips or dressings.
Roasted garlic is used in many of my dishes. Added to mashed potatoes, as a spread on paninis or garlic bread, mixed into hummus. The flavor is almost nutty creamy, never overpowering.
When I am out of my surplus of homemade Italian sauce, I use a quick marinara to prepare my Penne alla Vodka, top a pizza, eggplant or chicken parmesan, etc., etc.!
Clarified butter, the Golden Oil. A wonderful staple to have on hand to intensify foods with an almost a nutty flavor, amazing aroma and healthier than regular butter!
So easy to make ahead and prepare freshly baked pizzas!!
The first pie crust recipe I made! Makes two pie dough crusts, can use one and freeze the other for a single layer pie. I’ve also used this dough to make rugelach!

Dearest Linda,
I am going to try to make your Chocolate Turtle Ganache Cake. Can’t wait to try it.
Is it hard to make?
