Arrivederci Positano!

imageMy heart is breaking…I’m waiting for my driver to take me to Rome,  desperately trying to capture every sensual pleasure I see around me.  The aromas that fill my villa from freshly baked bread from a not so far away bakery, the distant soft clatter of activity of the awakening city and these breathtaking views I want to never forget.

My last gelato on the Amalfi Coast. This reminds me of my pregnancy with Gina, having ice cream every day from 6 months till birth and never having it again for many years later.

So many beautiful markets lined the cobblestone roads. A food lover’s  fantasy…

imageAll I could think of was preparing a meal and what I would buy….if I lived here.

Every option of pasta neatly lined up right before my eyes…

And if you’re not wanting to cook, endless outdoor cafés…

image

Valentino…these names just make me melt…sharing how he makes his limoncello..

Imagine hand peeling lemon after lemon…

Big lemons!  I love how the leaves are still attached.

imageAs someone said to me, “it’s an experience that you will treasure forever, Linda”.

Benissimo!

I love being in the kitchen. Early mornings, soft music, a hot espresso. Easing into the preparation of delicious meals. Glancing through cookbooks, gathering inspiration and planning my day. I look forward to the cycles of the seasons, the pleasures of tasting and savoring and sharing this with those dear to me. Weekends are special to me as my week days are often rushed, but still I create the ambiance, light the candles, set the table and uncork the wine.
